Inspiration
Isabel Werth because she has produced so many horses to International level and continues to stay at the top of the sport with multiple horses
Proud dressage moment
Winning the 4 yr old young horse class at The Victorian State Champs on Reverence F. Although I have had bigger wins, this was on my own horse that I bred, broke in and trained myself.
The most exciting horse in my stable
It’s a toss up between Samsara Hit a 6 yr old Sandro Hit mare and Skywalker a 4 yr old Future cup/Donnerhall stallion.
What I look forward to most in my day
I must say I really look forward to riding Ferrero Rocher every day. He tries so hard and I know him so well now. It just feels like home…
My highlight or speciality
Hmmm, I think my specialty would have to be riding the freestyle. It’s certainly my favourite and I really enjoy putting the music together myself. I didn’t do all those dance parties as a kid and learn nothing! Unfortunately, dressage is a sport where there are no real secrets or magic. It really just reflects the reality of good training, time and patience. If I did have a secret, I wouldn’t be telling anyone!
Why Dressage?
I was a pretty gung ho eventer and after falling 6 times in one season, I realised that perhaps I wasn’t really supposed to be jumping! Dressage is such a challenge and I really get a thrill out of producing a young horse from scratch. It’s also a great rush riding a high level test when it all falls into place.
What else is there to life but dressage?
Ha, very little but I really enjoy spending time with my friends. Also movies, music, books and a good party when I’ve got the time.
Dream horse
I’m actually pretty satisfied with the horses that I have. Ferrero Rocher is a dream horse but I’d also be pretty happy with Imke Bartels mare Sunrise!

The privilege of training a young horse can be likened to the artist with a blank canvas, it all begins with only brush strokes until an image begins to appear.

Motivation often sounds like a lot of pressure - "I must" or "I should", but really it is about you creating a mindset of "I really want" or "I get to".

When we hope for change or improvement coming from something (or someone) external to us, we set ourselves up for frustration and failure.
