Horse 1

Woodleigh Don Giovanni (Donald or Big) – He is a 16.2hh Warmblood Stallion by Don Ramiro out of Northern Dianna (Falkland Victory). He is currently competing at Novice level and will hopefully be competing at Elementary in time to qualify for Nationals this year. He is my favorite horse I’ve ever owned. He is truly an angel, he even babysits my foals for me!

Horse 2

Revelwood Dominion (Dom) – currently 16.3hh three year old warmblood stallion by Don Ramiro out of a Pot Black/Dom Herr mare. He is green broken but very flash. I aim to take him to his first local competition in May this year. He has a very trainable nature and naturally expressive paces.

Horse 3

Floridian (Flurry)– 2 year old green broken filly by Ferrero Rocher out of Belcam Gaze (Grannus II/Wilkes).

Foals

Donnerstern – Don Shufro/Medallion/Grannus II.

Robert De Niro – Riverside x Grannus II

Coaches

I have trained with many coaches such as Heath and Rozzie Ryan, Carlos de Cleermaeker, David Shoobridge and Silva Stigler, as well as attended many clinics including Young Rider clinics. I believe everyone has something they can teach you. I am currently training with Adam Vellere who I am very happy with!

Who do you find inspirational?

I am inspired by riders who ride with the horses best interest at heart as well as their own. I like the riders who create movement through engagement, suppleness and harmony. They allow the horses to work by themselves only helping them when they need it with a light hand and soft aids. Steffen Peters, Hubertus Schmidt, Andreas Helgstrand and Klaus Balkenhol.

What are your ambitions?

My goal in life is and always has been to compete at the Olympic games in dressage. I also strive to find a balance between life and training I don’t believe riding should ever become a chore or a struggle – I see it more as an art form than a physical thing.

Tell us about your most proud dressage moment.

My proudest competition moment was winning the inter I on 69% in the indoor at SIEC on Mephisto!!!!! That absolutely takes the cake for me! The victory lap was always something I’d been dying to do and really really really want to do again! Although it sounds corny I am proud of Donald everyday – He is my favorite horse in the world

Who is the most exciting horse in your stable and why?

It’s a toss up between Dom and Robert De Niro (Ronald). Both of these horses are extremely elegant, talented and sensitive. Neither of them have huge natural movement but they both have three correct basic paces and the temperament that will allow me to ride them for more.

What do you look forward to in your dressage day?

I look forward to getting the feeling of total focus and sensitivity from my horse.

Why dressage?

When I was 12 my mum and dad bought me a medium level horse (Mephisto) – he wasn’t the easiest horse to ride but he taught me an awful lot! I think Dressage is one of those sports where you have to understand a certain amount before it becomes interesting and Mephisto made it very interesting! I had only ridden up to Elementary before I got him and he took me up to Inter I and I was drawn to the challenge.

What else is there to life but dressage?

I am currently completing year 12. Between that and riding there’s not a lot of time for anything else, but I endeavor to maintain a well balanced life so I take time out to spend with my boyfriend and the occasional movie or ice skating session – I believe a well rounded person is a content person and contentment breeds success.

If you could have any horse in the world, who would it be?

Moorlands Tortilas, Ravel OR Scolari, but I’m actually very happy with the horses I have.

What makes a good dressage horse?

Trainability, natural suppleness, soundness and three correct gaits.
