How does your horse's mouth look?

If you're feeling brave, check out this video of what dentist Dr Shannon Lee sees all the time.

Dr Shannon Lee from Advanced Equine Dentistry has put together a confronting video reflecting conditions he sees regularly. This is what Shannon says:

This is a snapshot of horses mouths from my local area over just a few weeks and shows a range of common painful conditions affecting horses.

The horses with needles in their teeth have exposed/dead pulps ( nerves), For anyone who has had a filling or a root canal they will have some idea what this feels like. These teeth are now dead and will develop abcessed roots and require extraction to deal with the pain and infection as we rarely do root canals in the horse.

My motivation in creating this was to raise awareness of the importance of quality dental care in our equine friends as they often suffer in silence. To give you some idea of the scale of the problem my music library is enormous and I would run out of music before I would run out of pics.
