Dutch dressage super star Anky Van Grunsven and Olympic champion 16yo Salinero have once again won the Kur convincingly, this time at the World Dressage Masters in Palm Beach, Florida.

Following her second place in the Grand Prix where she finished 2 percent behind American Steffen Peters and Ravel, Anky was back up on top after the Kur with 84.450%.

Peters and Ravel came in second with 81.700%, followed by Isabell Werth on 16yo Satchmo in third place (as they were in the Grand Prix) with 78.950%, an amazing result considering she gave birth to her first child just three months ago.

For her efforts, Anky Van Grunsven takes home the Kur prizemoney of 60,000 Euro ($AUS 94,000).

I'm really having a problem with all this hyperflexion. Anky, may be a world champion professional rider, but the system is not one to be used at all. I feel that this is a backpedaling for the FEI and the uneducated biomechanically challenged. The biomechanics of hperflexion does not make a horse better in movement -- it worsens the horse. This horse is not swinging, through the back and happy. Shortening the stride and not getting the hind leg to the center of gravity (which can't be done in hyperflexion) is a problem. This is not low, deep, round. This is still hyperflexion. It's really long low (deep) and round
